What is a stye?
A stye is a lump, which develops at the eyelash base or under the eyelid. Mainly there are two types of styes.

This is the most effective way to treat a stye since it helps to dissolve the pus and the oil. Then stye can drain naturally. And also warmth brings the pus to the surface for easy removing.
Wet a clean cloth using warm water and wring it to remove dripping. Gently place the warm cloth over your eye for about 5 to 10 minutes. Make sure not to take hot water and don’t try to puncture the stye.
Massage the area.
Massage will promote the drainage of the stye. You can massage the stye are with the combination of the lid wipes. Make sure to clean your hands thoroughly before massaging when the stye drained off clean the area and avoid touching.
Clean the eyelid with water and mild soap.
Mix tear-free baby shampoo with warm water. Then use this with a cotton swab or clean washcloth and gently wipe the eyelid. Do this several times per day. It also helps to prevent future styes.

Warm tea bag
You can also use a warm teabag to compress the stye. Black tea helps to reduce swelling. And also it can acts better against bacterial infections since it has antibacterial properties.
Dip and keep the tea bag in warm water a few minutes as same as you make tea. Then keep the tea bag until it cools enough to keep on your eye. After that, you can keep the tea bag on eyelids for about 5 to 10 minutes.
Coconut oil has antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties. So this is an effective treatment for several skin problems. So it helps to heal your stye and reduce pain.
Apply some oil to the stye and let it sit and sink – don’t wash it. Make sure to clean your hands and face thoroughly before applying the oil.
Over-the-counter stye ointments.
These are antibiotic treatment. You can start by over-the-counter ointments from the pharmacy. You can use these antibiotic eye drops for stye which occurs only in externally. For internal styes better to take medicine with doctor’s prescriptions.
This is easy to use. Pull the eyelid of the affected eye and apply about quarter-inch of the solution inside the eyelid. Avoid using a topical steroid for eyelids since they can lead to occur side effects. Make sure to use the antibiotic ointments which made to use in or on the eye.

The best option is to meet a doctor and get treatments if you want to get rid of a stye quickly. Doctors also recommend ointments first. But sometimes they give some oral antibiotic treatments if the case is severe. If this has spread to other areas of the eye, it’s better to have oral treatments.
Sometimes doctors may recommend injection if there is inflammation and swelling occur due to the stye. The injections use corticosteroids. Usually, doctors use a small needle to reduce discomfort and pain.
Stye and Chalazion
It’s essential to know the difference between a stye and a chalazion before starting treatments. Because treatments for these two vary and people can’t distinguish these two separately since they look similar.
